Taste & healthy Smoothie: spinach & dates


          

A healthy and delicious smoothie made with plain yogurt, dates, pear, mango, spinach and watercress.  

This smoothie is a great way to get a good dose of vitamins, minerals and fiber from the fruit and  greens, while the plain yogurt provides protein and probiotics for gut health.

 Dates also add a natural sweetness with no added sugars.


 

 

 

  

Ingredients:

 


2 tablespoons of plain yogurt

4 pitted dates

1 pear cut into pieces

1 mango, peeled and cut into pieces

1 handful of spinach

1 handful of watercress leaves

 

 

 

 

 

 

Instructions:


Start by soaking the pitted dates in warm water for 10 minutes to soften them.


Add the softened dates, chopped pear, chopped mango, spinach leaves and watercress leaves to a blender.


Add the plain yogurt to the blender.


Blend on high speed for 1 to 2 minutes, or until smooth and well blended.


If the smoothie is too thick, add water or coconut water to thin it out to the desired consistency.

 

  Taste the smoothie and adjust the sweetness by adding dates if desired.

Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy immediately.
